Kenai Spine brings new nanotechnology, artificial disc to Alaska

Spinal Tech

Kenai Spine is using new spinal implants developed by Nanovis for spinal fusion procedures in Alaska.

Four insights:

1. Nanovis created rough and porous implant nanosurfaces to promote bone ingrowth and form a stronger fusion.

2. The nanotechnology reduces the risk of infection during surgery and improves postoperative visualization with plain view X-rays that decrease radiation exposure for the patient.

3. Kenai Spine is incorporating the recently approved M6 cervical artificial disc into its spine surgeries, which replicates the rotary motion and cushioning function of natural discs.

4. The M6 disc has been widely used in Europe and recently surpassed 45,000 implants.
