Medtronic to lay off 100 employees & more: 8 device company notes

Here are eight key notes on spine and orthopedic device companies:

Medtronic unveiled four new additions to its Surgical Synergy platform during the North American Spine Society's meeting, Sept. 25-28 in Chicago.

Medtronic also announced plans to cut 100 jobs from its Santa Rosa, Calif., operation.

DePuy Synthes launched its new Conduit Interbody Platform at the North American Spine Society meeting.

Icotec Medical is launching its VaderOne pedicle screw system.

Spinal Elements is launching Katana, a new lateral access system.

OrthoSpin received FDA clearance for its external robotic fixation device for orthopedic procedures.

Biedermann Motech is launching its Moss VRS pedicle screw system.

Viseon recently received FDA clearance and reported the first clinical use of its Voyant System for spine surgery.
