The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock is using an anti-gravity treadmill to help patients recover from orthopedic surgery, reports KATV.
Three things to know:
1. The Alter G Treadmill uses NASA technology to reduce body weight, helping patients to regain their strength and use their muscles during recovery.
2. The technology enables patients to run and walk earlier by letting them exercise at 20 percent to 100 percent of their body weight.
3. UAMS will use the treadmill for patients recovering from anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus repairs, as well as hip surgery.
