The FDA approved Medicrea's top-loading screw device Tulip Genesis, according to Medical Device Network.

Four things to know:

1. The approval completes Medicrea’s UNiD adaptive spine intelligence product line.

2. The UNiD platform integrates the company’s artificial technology and clinical research to assist surgeons in preoperative planning and improve patient outcomes.

3. Surgeons will be able to preoperatively use the AI system to visualize the mechanisms around the instrumented spine that they anticipate will occur in surgery.

4. Medicrea biomedical engineers can create surgical plans using predictive modelling algorithms, which will help OR staff anticipate the need for each implant.
