Baltimore hospital adds mobile Medtronic imaging machine — 3 insights

Baltimore-based Mercy Medical Center added Medtronic's O-arm Mobile Surgical Imaging System to The Minimally Invasive Brain and Spine Center at Mercy.

What you should know:

1. Clinicians use the imaging machine in cranial, spine and trauma-related surgeries.

2. The machine provides real-time, intraoperative images of a patient's anatomy.

3. Center director Charles Park, MD, PhD, said the imaging machine will help clinicians ensure implants are accurately placed.
