PE-owned manufacturer acquires implant maker Advantage Manufacturing Technologies — 3 insights

Private equity-backed medical manufacturer Medin Technologies acquired Advantage Manufacturing Technologies.

What you should know:

1. AMT creates orthopedic implants. Medin acquired the company through its new wholly owned subsidiary, AMT Medical.

2. Former AMT owner David Parsons retained minority ownership in the company and will serve on the AMT Medical's executive team.

3. Medin will provide AMT with expanded funding, an augmented management team and increased product offerings.

"Just as we have done with Medin Technologies, we plan to invest aggressively in AMT Medical, and over time, integrate the two companies' operations more thoroughly to deliver value to our customers," said Medin Technologies CEO Bill Donaldson.
