Emerging devicemaker New View Surgical, which develops technology for minimally invasive surgery, raised $2.5 million to further develop its VisionPort System.

2. Several individual investors joined the fund, including New York Angels, Mid-Atlantic Bio-Angels, Keiretsu Forum and Ariel Southeast Angel Partners.
3. The VisionPort system is an imaging tool for minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. The system eliminates the need for a separate camera port and camera holder and provides multiple views of the operative field.
