Acumed acquired Radicle Orthopaedics' RASL Repair System, which treats the scapholunate ligament of the wrist.

What you should know:

1. Acumed purchased the device from Radicle for an undisclosed sum.

2. Melvin Rosenwasser, MD, developed the system, which earned FDA 510(k) approval.

3. Acumed acquired the solution to boost its hand and wrist portfolio. Its existing portfolio features the Acutrak 2 Headless Compression Screw as well as several wrist plating options.

"Acumed will continue to build its portfolio to meet the unmet needs of the fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity, sports medicine, foot and ankle, and trauma surgeons," said Acumed President and CEO Sharon Wolfington.
