Ozop Surgical completes testing on new spinal implant

Spinal Tech

Minimally invasive medical device manufacturer Ozop Surgical released significant test results from its adjustable ALIF interbody spinal implant.

Three insights:

1. The ALIF implant is an anterior spinal implant that allows surgeons to expand it after insertion into the disc space.

2. It aims to provide patient specific adjustment, cut OR time and save costs for hospitals.

3. Initial testing recorded positive results. Ozop is incorporating improvements into the latest design and is seeking to complete testing for FDA submission shortly, with a goal of receiving approval by the end of the year.

"Developing an infinitely adjustable ALIF implant is a challenging design goal but the end outcome will allow the surgeon to ensure segmental stability and restore sagittal balance," said Michael Chermak, CEO of Ozop.
