Ossio launches array of bone pins — 4 insights

Ossio celebrated the launch and first commercial use of its OSSIOfiber Bone Pin portfolio.

What you should know:

1. Surgeons use the bone pins for maintenance of alignment and fixation in bone fractures, osteotomies, arthrodesis and bone grafts.

2. Gregory Berlet, MD, Dr. Christopher Hyer and Dr. Mark Prissel completed the first commercial case with OSSIOfiber at Westerville, Ohio-based Polaris Surgery Center.

3. The FDA cleared the OSSIOfiber Bone Pin portfolio in January.

4. Ossio plans to begin full commercialization efforts in the third quarter of 2019.
