Additive Implants debuts 3D-printed cervical spacer — 3 key points

Additive Implants' 3D-printed, titanium alloy SureMAX Cervical Spacer was introduced to the U.S. market in March after receiving FDA clearance, MD+DI reports.

Three key points:

1. The SureMAX Cervical Spacer's roughened porous surface is designed to engage bone on the vertebral endplates and resist rotational forces during healing.

2. Additive Implants expects to launch an additional cervical spacer in the fourth quarter of this year and several lumbar products in the first half of 2020.

3. Additive Implants was founded by an orthopedic surgeon who wanted to create new cervical spacer options for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgery. The company's portfolio includes a family of sizes to accommodate a wide range of anatomies and pathologies.
