Mayo Clinic-ASU MedTech Accelerator now accepting applications: 4 things to know

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Tempe-based Arizona State University collaborated to launch a medical technology accelerator, which is accepting applications through Feb. 28.

Four things to know:

1. According to Mayo Clinic-ASU MedTech Accelerator CMO Steven Lester, MD, the accelerator aims to help startups bridge the development gap. Participants will develop personalized business plans and can collaborate with Mayo Clinic and ASU.

2. Participants will take part in an accelerator immersion program April 22 to May 3 at Mayo Clinic's Scottsdale, Ariz., campus. The accelerator will be six months per cohort, and the remaining portion of the accelerator program can be completed remotely, with incentives offered to participants to stay and work in Arizona.

3. Eligible companies must be U.S.-based and have raised at least $500,000 in seed capital and/or are generating recurring revenue.

4. Selected companies must execute a participation agreement and pay $50,000.
