Miach Orthopaedics appoints industry veteran as CEO, president: 5 takeaways

Miach Orthopaedics, a company that develops bio-engineered implants for connective tissue repair, welcomed Martha Shadan as president and CEO.

Here are five insights:

1. Ms. Shadan brings more than 30 years of medical device executive, marketing and commercialization expertise to the position.

2. She has served as executive chairwoman of the company's board since September 2018.

3. Most recently, Ms. Shadan served as global vice president of marketing at Smith & Nephew. She assumed the role after Smith & Nephew acquired Rotation Medical, where she served as president and CEO.

4. Ms. Shadan served in senior leadership positions with Zimmer Biomet, Covidien, Bristol Myers Squibb Co. and Merck Millipore.

5. Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for the Advanced Medical Technology Association and Accel.
