Globus Medical sales spike 13.8% to $173.4M in Q2: 5 key points

Globus Medical released its 2018 second quarter financial report.

Here are five key points:

1. Worldwide sales for the company were $173.4 million, a 13.8 percent increase year-over-year.

2. Globus Medical's net income for the second quarter was $45 million, a 56.9 percent increase.

3. The company's second quarter sales in the U.S., including robotics, increased 15.1 percent year-over-year. International sales increased by 7.2 percent.

4. Diluted earnings per share for the second quarter was $0.44, a 38 percent increase year-over-year. The company attributed the spike to its ExcelsiusGPS robotic and navigation system.

5. Globus Medical anticipates its full-year sales to be around $700 million. Previous guidance put the company's full-year 2018 sales at $695 million.
