The U.S. House of Representatives voted to repeal a medical device sales tax law passed nearly a decade ago as part of the ACA, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Here are four details to know:

1. The repeal bill passed 283-132 and included a "seal of approval" from the White House.

2. Lawmakers called on President Donald Trump to support the repeal effort before the vote.

3. The 2.3 percent sales tax law was put into effect in 2013 and collected $5 billion before Congress suspended collection three years later.

4. It is unclear when the bill will be voted on in the Senate, but industry insiders would like the vote to happen in August or September to avoid being pushed aside by Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination.
