4 things to know about DePuy Synthes' newly launched Global Unite Reverse Fracture Shoulder

Spinal Tech

DePuy Synthes launched the Global Unite Reverse Fracture Shoulder for shoulder reconstruction after complex fractures in patients with a grossly deficient rotator cuff.

Here are four things to know.

1. The system is designed to provide greater flexibility for securely reattaching the bone to the implant.

2. It features several suture holes in the collar on top of the implant and suture pockets around the implant's backside to enhance bone fixation. The backside pockets are specially designed for bone graft.

3. The system has Porocoat Porous Coating, a proprietary technology that consists of microscopic titanium beads to support biological fixation at the bone-implant interface.

4. The new system offers a streamlined instrumentation kit intended to improve cross-compatibility across DePuy Synthes' shoulder offerings.
