DePuy Synthes launches ATTUNE Revision Knee System: 4 things to know

Spinal Tech

DePuy Synthes launched the ATTUNE Revision Knee System in the U.S. at the 2018 American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in New Orleans on March 6.

Here are four things to know.

1. The launch is intended to complement the ATTUNE Primary Knee System and provide surgeons with a comprehensive knee replacement solution.

2. The Revision Knee System has both fixed-bearing and rotating platform options.

3. The Revision Knee System incorporates certain features of the Primary Knee System such as AOX Polyethylene, enhanced locking mechanisms and improved kinematics through the ATTUNE GRADIUS Curve condylar geometry, according to orthopedic surgeon and consultant Douglas Dennis, MD.

4. The Revision Knee System is designed to the patient's anatomy to provide stability in motion during activities such as ascending or descending stairs, walking uphill or downhill or rising from a chair through the:

  • ATTUNE GRADIUS Curve, designed to address the unnatural sliding of the femur on the tibia and to provide smooth motion and stability

  • GLIDERIGHT Articulation, designed to enable the ATTUNE Knee design to more accurately replicate the normal patellofemoral kinematics of the natural knee

Here is more information on the ATTUNE Knee System.
