NuVasive appoints Michael Piccirillo to lead global surgeon education platform: 5 things to know

NuVasive appointed a new executive to lead its global surgeon education platform.

 

Here are five things to know:

 

1. NuVasive has expanded its surgeon education program into a Clinical Professional Development global platform that integrates surgical training with professional development and appointed Michael Piccirillo to lead expansion efforts.

 

2. Mr. Piccirillo has a background in designing and executing spine educational curriculums and has worked with surgeon communities in more than 80 countries around the world.

 

3. The CPD team will support NuVasive's surgeon partners and facilitate their development through training programs. The program also has a peer-to-peer engagement component that encourages collaboration among surgeons and drives further engagement.

 

4. Mr. Piccirillo has more than 30 years of experience in the field, most recently serving as managing partner at Valugen GmbH in Zurich. He gained experience working with several academic organizations to redesign their educational programs and create strategies for patient organizations.

 

5. Throughout his career, Mr. Piccirillo has gained experience in the spine field as executive director of AOSpine and AO Trauma, divisions of the AO Foundation, where he was responsible for creating the competency curriculum, faculty development and fellowships.
