Medtronic purchased Crospon Limited, an Irish-based medical device company, according to Medical Plastic News.

Here are three insights:


1. While Medtronic confirmed the purchase, the acquisition costs were not disclosed. Market analyst estimate the purchase was around $44.8 million.


2. Cropson develops minimally invasive medical devices to treat and diagnose gastrointestinal disorders.


3. Medtronic plans to use the acquisition to expand its existing GI portfolio to include solutions for oesophageal disease.
