4 US surgeons perform 1st spine surgeries with EIT technology: 5 notes

Four U.S. surgeons performed the first spine surgeries with Emerging Implant Technologies' implants.

1. The surgeons included:
• Matthew Gornet, MD, of St. Louis Spine and Orthopedic Surgery Center
• Gurvinder Deol, MD, of Raleigh, N.C.-based Wake Orthopaedics
• Faheem Sandhu, MD, of Washington, D.C.-based Georgetown University
• Brandon Scott, DO, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Saint Francis Medical Center.

 

2. EIT offers a portfolio of interbody products for cervical procedures, anterior lumbar interbody fusion, transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and posterior lumbar interbody fusion.

 

3. A 3-D printed porous titanium structure, EIT Cellular Titanium is designed to optimize cell proliferation and bone ingrowth.

 

4. The company reports it has surpassed its case volume projections by 250 percent.

 

5. EIT is the first medical device manufacturer in orthopedics to exclusively focus on implants that are designed and produced with additive manufacturing methods.
