OrthoPediatrics amends distribution agreement with Bioretec: 5 things to know

OrthoPediatrics and Bioretec amended their existing distribution agreement.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Under the new agreement, OrthoPediatrics will market and sell Bioretec's orthopedic bone and soft tissue fixation implants under OrthoPediatric's brand TorqLoc.

 

2. Bioretec's bioresorbable implants are designed for repairing musculoskeletal defects in children and young adults. Clinical studies have shown the implants positively repair growing bones.

 

3. Bioretec is a material technology company focused on developing and manufacturing bioabsorbable and bioactive surgical implants for orthopedic, trauma and sports medicine surgeries.

 

4. OrthoPediatrics currently markets 22 surgical systems, serving three of the largest categories within the pediatric orthopedic market: trauma and deformity, complex spine and ACL reconstruction.

 

5. OrthoPediatrics' Vice President of Trauma and Deformity Correction Joe Hauser said, "This evolving strategic partnership and collaboration with Bioretec represents another area for tremendous growth within OrthoPediatrics' portfolio. The TorqLoc screw portfolio will provide a truly innovative option for many unmet
