VirtaMed will introduce the first virtual reality simulator for ankle arthroscopy in December.
Here are four insights:
1. The VirtaMed ArthroS Ankle Module will encompass a lifelike anatomic ankle model, virtual reality graphics, various anatomies and pathologies and a customizable course structure.
2. The anatomic model offers surgeons anterior and posterior access. Surgeons may position the model in prone and supine positions.
3. Surgeons may also manipulate the joint model in dorsiflexion and plantar flexion.
4. The VirtaMed ArthroS simulator currently includes knee, shoulder and hip arthroscopy modules.
