TransEnterix submits additional information for surgical robotic system FDA clearance: 5 insights

TransEnterix submitted the FDA request for additional information to receive clearance for the company’s Senhance Surgical Robotic System.

Here are five insights:

 

1. Senhance Surgical Robotic System is a multiport robotic system designed to give surgeons haptic feedback, eye sensing camera control and other innovative technology services.

 

 

2. While the surgical robotic system received the CE mark in Europe, the company is in the process of receiving FDA clearance to market in the U.S.

 

3. TransEnterix is a medical device company that develops robotics to improve minimally invasive surgery by addressing clinical and economic challenges associated with current

laparoscopic and robotic options.

 

4. The company also developed the SurgiBot System, a single-port, robotically enhanced laparoscopic surgical platform.

 

5. TransEnterix expects to receive FDA clearance by the end of the year.
