Dr. Alexis Kelekis to deliver update on Minimus Spine's Triojection study: 4 insights

Spinal Tech

Alexis Kelekis, MD, will present an update to a study comparing Minimus Spine's Triojection procedure with surgical discectomy at the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe Meeting, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from Sept. 16 to 20.

Here are four insights:

1. Triojection is designed to help inject ozone gas for disc herniation treatment.

2. Dr. Kelekis' study is the first randomized study comparing an intradiscal ozone procedure to surgery as well as the first to include several countries. Italy, Greece and Switzerland took part in the study.

3. He noted if Triojection yields comparable outcomes to surgery, but limits recovery and complications associated with surgery, it "will be an attractive option for physicians and patients."

4. Dr. Kelekis is an interventional radiologist at Attikon University Hospital in Athens, Greece.
