University of Pennsylvania launches Penn Center for Health, Devices and Technology

Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania announced the launch of the Penn Center for Health, Devices and Technology, which will also be known at Penn Health-Tech.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The center will seek to advance device and health technological breakthroughs to better care for pressing healthcare needs.

 

2. By combining physical devices and information systems translating to innovative healthcare technologies, the center also hopes to help local health systems.

 

3. Neurology professor Brian Litt, MD, of Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania will co-direct the center.

 

4. Penn Health-Tech is a collaboration between Perelman School of Medicine, the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Office of the Vice Provost.
