ReActiv8, which treats back pain, treats chronic back pain, recently received the CE mark of approval.

Here are five things to know:

1. ReActiv8 is an implantable neurostimulation system designed to treat chronic low back pain.

2. Francis Kilian, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and neurosurgeon at the Catholic Hospital Koblenz-Montabaur in Koblenz, Germany, performed the first implant.

3. Dr. Kilian said that ReActiv8 is exactly what patients who aren't candidates for spine surgery need.
