Rhode Island Hospital joins INSPIRE study as 29th clinical site: 5 points

Cambridge, Mass.-based InVivo Therapeutics added Providence-based Rhode Island Hospital to its INSPIRE study.

Here are five points:

 

1. Rhode Island Hospital represents the 29th INSPIRE clinical site.

 

2. The hospital is the principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

 

3. Adetokunbo Oyelese, MD, PhD, will serve as principal investigator at the new clinical site.

 

4. Dr. Oyelese serves as director of spinal disorders as well as surgical director for the hospital's comprehensive spine center.

 

5. The INSPIRE study tests the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold's efficacy and safety for complete thoracic AIS A spinal cord injury.
