NASS issues 1st coverage recommendations for electrical bone growth stimulators for spinal fusion: 3 highlights

The North American Spine Society issued the first coverage recommendations for electrical bone growth stimulators.

Here are three highlights:


1. The coverage recommendations support using pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation devices for spinal fusion surgery.


2. These recommendations support using the devices for both cervical and lumbar spinal regions.


3. To establish coverage recommendations, NASS reviews available literature and discussions with volunteer leaders and experts. Then, the NASS coverage committee finalizes evidence-based coverage recommendations for the analyzed procedures and treatments.
