Hensler Surgical launches patented bone collector: 4 takeaways

Spinal Tech

Hensler Surgical Products will launch its Hensler Bone Collector at the North American Spine Society annual meeting.

Here's what you should know.

1. The primary function of the device is to collect bone chips from the Kerrison Rongeurs during spinal fusion surgery.

2. The HBC rapidly collects the bone chips which can be added to autograft or bone extenders.

3. The device replaces the method of grabbing the bone from the mouth of the Kerrison with sponges or hands.

4. The HBC will reduce physician reliance on cadaver bone, synthetics or biologics.
