Carestream’s cone beam CT system receives FDA clearance: 4 things to know

The FDA recently cleared Carestream’s OnSight 3D Extremity System allowing it to be sold in the United States. Here’s what you should know.

1. The system can produce high-quality, lower-dose 3D imaging.

 

2. Carestream’s Worldwide Marketing Director Helen Titus said the system can be used to treat orthopedic conditions that affect the joints like arthritis and meniscus loss among others.

 

3. The company is focused on orthopedics because of the high occurrence rate of musculoskeletal conditions.

 

4. The product will be on display at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand conference on Sept. 29.
