Mequon, Wis.-based Titan Spine extended its distribution agreement with MBA, an international medical device marketing-and-distribution organization, to offer the Endoskeleton titanium implants in Italy.

Here are four key points:

1. The original September 2015 agreement saw MBA distributing Titan Spine's spinal interbody fusion devices in Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Luxembourg, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

2. The initial distribution agreement with MBA saw accelerated sales growth, with enhanced E.U. surgeon adoption of Titan Spine's Endoskeleton titanium implants.

3. Titan Spine saw opportunity to expand to Italy, as the Italian interbody fusion market is anticipated to reach $25 million in 2017.

4. Titan Spine's Endoskeleton devices include the company's proprietary implant surface technology, which combines roughened topographies at the macro, micro and nano levels.
