JRI Orthopaedics completes Sheffield Medical acquisition: 4 takeaways

JRI Orthopaedics completed its acquisition of Sheffield Medical Products, according to a HealthPointCapital report.

Here are four takeaways:

 

1. Sheffield Medical Products focuses on the development of medical disposables, instrumentation and implants for joint replacement and revision surgery.

 

2. The company's product portfolio includes the AEON cemented hip replacement system, a femoral stem implant.

 

3. The AEON system will be re-branded as AVANTEON as part of the acquisition.

 

4. Sheffield Medical Products will continue to manufacture its products at its current facility in the United Kingdom.
