Warren, N.J.-based Prosidyan and Rolla, Mo.-based MO-SCI partnered to help develop a new orthopedic technology involving boron-based bioactive glass materials.

Here are five insights:

 

1. This new technology is planned for use in orthopedics, including spinal and trauma applications.

 

2. Columbia-based University of Missouri researchers developed this technology.

 

3. This new technology will become part of Prosidyan's FIBERGRAFT bone graft line.

 

4. Presently, physicians have implanted FIBERGRAFT products in more than 4,000 U.S. patients.

 

5. Prosidyan develops proprietary fiber-based bioactive glass orthobiologics products.
