Titan Spine executive named to FDA-sponsored medical device initiative: 5 key notes

The Medical Device Epidemiology Network Initiative appointed Jeff Dunkel, Titan Spine vice president of strategic partnering, to the Executive Operations Committee.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. The initiative is part of a collaboration with the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health. The members strive to enhance understanding of medical devices' safety and effectiveness once they're marketed.

 

2. Mr. Dunkel will support advancing innovation in medication through policy and action.

 

3. He will educate health systems on data, registries and the Affordable Care Act.

 

4. MEDpiNet develops datasets and new methods of conducting analytic studies, to enhance understanding of medical device innovation, safety applications and effectiveness throughout their life cycle.

 

5. "We are working diligently to expand the partnership between the private and public sectors, while continuing to help guide the building of a national medical device evaluation system to improve and integrate a comprehensive infrastructure for real-world data, methodologies and studies," said Mr. Dunkel.
