LifeNet Health, Arthrex forge new agreement: 5 things to note

Spinal Tech

Virginia Beach, Va.-based LifeNet Health and Southwest Florida-based Arthrex have entered a new multi-year agreement to provide access to clinically effective grafts and instrumentation.

Here are five things to note:

1. LifeNet Health provides allograft implants and Arthrex develops orthopedic surgical solutions.

2. The two companies have a 10-year history of collaboration, during which they've developed the superior capsular reconstruction procedure. This technique repairs previously deemed irreparable massive rotator cuff tears.

3. The technique, which is an alternative to shoulder arthroplasty, uses LifeNet Health's ArthroFlex acellular dermal matrix and Arthrex's surgical instruments.

4. Under their new partnership, the two companies plan to delve into cartilage repair opportunities.

5. "Together, Arthrex and LifeNet Health have pioneered surgical innovations that offer hope of enhanced function or mobility to patients around the world," said Daniel Osborne, vice president of global marketing, LifeNet Health.
