RTI Surgical names 2 new board members: 6 things to know

RTI Surgical is naming Curtis M. Selquist as chairman of the board and Peter F. Gearen, MD, as vice chairman.

Here are six things to know:

 

1. Dean H. Bergy is stepping down as chairman, which went into effect on Feb. 24.

 

2. Mr. Bergy will continue as a board member through the end of his term.

 

3. Joining RTI’s board in July 2013, Mr. Selquist currently is the chairman of RTI's nominating and governance committee and serves as a member of the compensation committee.

 

4. He previously was the president of Johnson & Johnson Latin America, and had a career at Johnson & Johnson for 35 years.

 

5. Dr. Gearen has been a board of directors member since February 1998, and is currently the chairman of the science and technology committee.

 

6. A former orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Gearen is also a member of the nominating and governance committee.
