DJO Surgical unveils its EMPOWR 3D Knee system: 5 points

Spinal Tech

DJO Global, a Vista, Calif.-based provider of medical device solutions for musculoskeletal health, created the EMPOWR 3D Knee system for active patients.

Here are five points:

1. The EMPOWR 3D Knee system is designed for younger patients who want to return to their active lifestyles with restoration of healthy knee motion.

2. The system is intended to mirror natural motion from early flexion to deep flexion.

3. It is created with e+ polyethylene, with the added vitamin E to decrease long-term wear.

4. The implants are fitted to patients' specific anatomies for enhanced functionality.

5. The system boasts more than 10 years of clinical trials.

"The new EMPOWR 3D Knee design retains all these functional benefits in a system that is designed to optimally fit patients' anatomy while giving surgeons more intraoperative flexibility and efficiency," said Scott Banks, PhD, co-designer of 3D Knee and professor of mechanical & aerospace engineering at University of Florida in Gainesville.
