DePuy Synthes Q3 US sales up 3%, worldwide sales drop 18.9%: 6 key notes

Johnson & Johnson's orthopedics subsidiary DePuy Synthes reported a drop in international and overall sales in the third quarter of 2015.

Here are five key notes from the report:

 

1. The U.S. sales were up 3.1 percent over the third quarter last year, reaching $1.3 billion.

 

2. The international orthopedics sales dropped 18.9 percent from $1 billion last year during the third quarter to $869 million for 2015.

 

3. Worldwide orthopedics sales hit $2.1 billion for the third quarter, down 7 percent from the same period last year.

 

4. At the nine months end, the U.S. sales were up 2.2 percent overall, reaching $3.9 billion.

 

5. International orthopedics sales dropped 14.2 percent in for the first nine months of 2015 over the first nine months of 2014.

 

6. Worldwide, the orthopedics business sales dropped 5.5 percent over the same period last year, going from $7.2 billion at the nine months end in 2024 to $6.8 billion in the same period this year.
