Spinal Tech

Benvenue Medical launched Luna 3D Interbody Fusion System in the United States at the annual North American Spine Society meeting in Chicago, Oct. 14 to Oct. 16.

Here are four things to know:

1. This is the full-scale launch of the FDA-cleared system follows a successful limited rollout.

2. More than 100 patient levels were treated via both minimally invasive and open TLIF approaches during the limited rollout.

3. The system is designed to offer controlled, atraumatic insertion through a 6-8 mm cannula, which aims to minimize nerve retraction and mitigate implant migration.

4. At the NASS meeting, Benvenue Medical will also accept the 2015 Spine Technology Award for the Luna system in the Minimally Invasive Spine and Thoracolumbar Care categories.
