The global medical robotics market is expected to grow tremendously over the next several years, according to a new Reporterlink analysis.

Here are seven things to know from the report:

1. The demand for robotics in healthcare is increasing, especially for robotics in surgical procedures.

2. Studies show robotic technology is safer in situations where human errors can occur because robotic procedures have greater precision and leave a smaller minimum margin of error.

3. Since robotic procedures have a smaller window for error, they can generate more revenue.

4. Robots can create better clinical outcomes and curtail labor costs, which is another reason for the growing demand.

5. Robots are also growing for these areas:

• Disinfection
• Instrument sterilization
• Processing laboratory supplies

6. These technologies are limited to economies invested in medical care. Public hospitals in developing countries are unlikely to be able to purchase this type of equipment.

7. Asian countries, specifically India and China, are markets of the future for robotics since these governments are putting in effort to improve healthcare.
