Boston Scientific Corp. has announced FDA approval and subsequent launch of two spinal cord stimulation lead splitters.

The splitters are for use with the company's Precision Plus Spinal Cord Stimulator System, a rechargeable device for the management of chronic pain of the trunk, back and limbs.

The company says the splitters allow for multi-site placement of up to four leads, and can deliver electrical pulses to the spinal cord to mask pain signals.
