Biomet Spine sales grew by 7 percent in the United States and 4 percent worldwide in the second quarter of the 2013 fiscal year. Overall company net sales were up 9 percent during the second quarter, reaching $790 million.

Globus Medical anticipates its fourth quarter 2012 sales will be $100.5 million, a 14.3 percent increase over the same period in 2011. Full year sales are expected to reach $386 million, a 16.4 percent increase. The company attributes its growth to its growing sales force in the United States.

Stryker Spine sales grew 6.4 percent in the fourth quarter, reaching $190 million. The company's spine sales in the United States grew 10.1 percent while international sales fell slightly in the fourth quarter. Full year spine sales grew 5.8 percent as reported to $727 million, with U.S. sales growing 9.2 percent.

TranS1 announced preliminary unaudited fourth quarter revenues at $4.1 million for 2012, a 3 percent increase over the same period in 2011, and 29 percent increase over the third quarter of 2012. The company attributes its success to the news its AxiaLIF technology gained a Category 1 CPT code beginning in 2013. The company was also boosted by a $1.1 million initial stocking order for the AxiaLIF distributor in China.

Zimmer Spine reported a 5 percent degree in net sales for the fourth quarter of 2012 over the same period last year. Full year spine net sales were reported at $209 million, a 7 percent decrease over 2011. The company reported a $96 million impairment in the spine business, dropping fully ear profit 2.4 percent.
