Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital debuts spine surgery robot
Richmond, Va.-based Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital became one of four hospitals in the U.S. to install Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS. The robot is designed to increase patient safety and minimally invasive spine surgery accuracy, reducing radiation exposure, streamlining workflow and reproducibly assisting in implant placement.

 

Joimax highlights new products for endoscopic MIS spine
Joimax showcased its Camsource LED camera system, which is combined with the Vitegra Docu and Command Visual Integration System at the German Spine Society congress in Stuttgart, Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. The company also featured its EndoLIF portfolio, with the recently added EndoLIF Double-Wedge Cage.

Titan Medical installed its Sports Surgical System at the Institute of Image-Guided Surgery in Strasbourg, France, making it the first center in Europe to install the system. The Institute of Image-Guided Surgery is the final planned installation site for Titan Medical's feasibility and validation studies to support the company's regulatory submissions for the Sport Surgical System.

 

DePuy Synthes introduces Purevue Visualization System for MIS
DePuy Synthes unveiled its Purvue Visualization System for minimally invasive endoscopic surgery. The imaging platform integrates a light source, an image processor and local image management to offer a smaller operating room footprint.

The global minimally invasive spine surgery market will likely grow at a 7.57 percent compound annual growth rate through 2020, according to a Healthcare Market Reports analysis. Dominant market players include DePuy Synthes, Medtronic, NuVasive, Stryker and Zimmer Biomet.
