Dr. Claudio Feler adopts FLXfit 3D Expandable TLIF cage for minimally invasive spine surgery: 5 key notes

Claudio Feler, MD, of Cheyenne Regional Medical Group adopted the FLXfit 3D Expandable TLIF Cage from Expanding Orthopedics when performing minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion procedures.

"Large bodies of clinical evidence show that lordotic restoration is crucial in addressing sagittal alignment," he said. "FLXfit's unique articulating design allows for a very large implant footprint to pass through an MIS cannula and be positioned in the anterior portion of the disc space."

 

Here are five things to know about Dr. Feler:

 

1. He is an associate professor in the department of neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

 

2. Dr. Feler takes a collaborative approach to care involving several specialty providers and has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery.

 

3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Feler is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the International Association for the Study of Pain. He serves as vice president and board member of the North American Neuromodulation Society.

 

4. Throughout his career, Dr. Feler has served as editor for Neuromodulation for the International Neuromodulation Society and Pain Physician for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

 

5. Dr. Feler earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville (Ky.), and completed his fellowship in stereotactic functional neurosurgery at Toronto General Hospital in Canada.
