Vector Science & Therapeutics, a medical technology and therapeutic delivery company, plans to build a dedicated distributor network to commercialize its peptide portfolio across the orthopedic, sports and regenerative medicine markets.
The network will target orthopedic and sports medicine practices, ASCs, regenerative medicine clinics, athletic training environments and pain management and rehabilitation settings. Vector will recruit independent distributors and representatives with established relationships in those markets rather than build an in-house sales force, according to a July 21 news release.
The Mequon, Wis.-based company said it may begin with regional or specialty-specific launches before expanding nationally. Over time, Vector expects the network could grow to approximately 20 distributors and as many as 300 sub-representatives, though it said the size and timing of the expansion will depend on commercial sales growth.
Vector’s peptide portfolio is focused on musculoskeletal conditions, soft tissue injury and degenerative joint disease, including osteoarthritis. The company expects to announce distributor partnerships and regional coverage milestones in the coming quarters, according to the release.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
