Tulsa, Okla.-based Edison Healthcare partnered with Regenexx to offer its employees alternatives to orthopedic surgery.

Here are three insights:

1. The partnership allows Edison Healthcare's corporate clients to offer their employees advanced stem cell and blood platelet procedures for orthopedic injuries, joint conditions and osteoarthritis.

2. Edison Healthcare's Smart Care Centers are designed to help patients and employers steer clear of unnecessary or poor treatments.

3. Regenexx offers an alternative treatment for up to 70 percent of orthopedic surgeries, meaning employers could save 80-plus percent on orthopedic costs.
