RTI Surgical delivers 8M biologic implants with no implant-associated infections: 6 things to know

RTI Surgical accomplished a major milestone in April.

Here are six things to know.

1. RTI Surgical has provided more than 8 million biologic implants that underwent its proprietary sterilization processes with zero confirmed incident of implant-associated infection.

2. The company distributed 600,000-plus biologic implants in 2017.

3. RTI Surgical is also celebrating its 20th anniversary of providing biologic surgical implants.

4. The company was the first to offer tissue-specific validated sterilization processes, including the BioCleanse Tissue Sterilization Process, Cancelle SP DBM Sterilization Process and the Tutoplast Tissue Sterilization Process.

5. RTI Surgical also became the first company to provide precision-shaped bone implants and assembled technologies.

6. The company's tissue-based implants are leveraged in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscus transplantation, fracture repair, rotator cuff repair, wound coverings, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction and abdominal wall repair for hernias. RTI Surgical manufactures implants for sports medicine, general surgery, spine, orthopedic, trauma and cardiothoracic procedures.
