Anika Therapeutics named Thomas Finnerty its new chief human resources officer, effective Oct. 30.

1. In his new role, Mr. Finnerty will oversee strategic talent acquisitions at the company's U.S. and European headquarters. He will also head professional development and employee relations programs.
2. He currently serves as a strategic human capital consultant for Anika. Previously, Mr. Finnerty served as senior vice president of human resources at Smith & Nephew.
3. Mr. Finnerty is equipped with 25 years of global human resource team experience.
4. He specializes in talent acquisition and development, executive coaching and employee engagement.
5. Anika develops therapies for degenerative orthopedic disease and traumatic conditions.
