Regenerative medtech company Isto Biologics has acquired regenerative medicine developer NovaBone Products, adding a portfolio of synthetic bioactive glass bone grafts to its orthobiologics business.
NovaBone develops synthetic bone graft products based on proprietary bioactive glass technology that are sold in more than 40 countries. The products are backed by more than 20 years of clinical evidence and are used across spine, orthopedics, foot and ankle, trauma, extremities, and dental procedures, according to an Aug. 4 news release.

The combined company also plans to leverage complementary research, development and manufacturing capabilities to support future product innovation.
The transaction marks Isto’s first strategic acquisition and comes 10 months after Keensight Capital invested in the company. Financial terms were not disclosed.
