He is known for his contributions to cartilage repair and regeneration and will lead initiatives and foster new research collaborations globally. Dr. Grande is assistant vice president of research services and a professor of molecular medicine and orthopedic surgery at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, which is part of Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, N.Y.
Dr. Grande is a leader in cell-based therapies for articular cartilage repair, and his research led to the FDA-approved autologous chondrocyte implantation. He also has expertise in stem cells, tissue engineering and biomaterials.
Dr. Grande will serve a two-year term as president and a two-year term as a past president on the ICRS executive board.
